The time has come to rename this blog.

The word “Arts” doesn’t cover it all. It doesn’t describe a blog that includes political humor by Will Durst, one-liners by Eric Idle, a long list of accordion jokes and a short shot at the latest “Star Trek” film.

It is true that I do try cover visual arts and theater in Northern California and shall continue to try, even though both scenes have grown huge, and I am not an army. I am merely me.

Still, I’d also like to write about music, film, poetry, cartooning and many other arts, as well.

I could simply name the blog after myself, but “Dan Taylor” is only slightly less common than “John Smith.” There are many Dan Taylor blogs out there already.

I could change my own name to something more exotic, like Gordon Osric, Anton Lupeski or P. Roy Lurkins, but my friends and family might not know me.

So, I am asking for help. Send me your ideas for a new name for this blog. Vote often. Win nothing. (Sorry, no budget.)

A few starter ideas:

Time Out

Fade to Blue

Culture Creature

Culture Watch

Creativity Alert

Arts and Minds

All of Creation (sounds religious)

Looking for Fun (sounds like a dating service)

By the way, even if the name changes, I am not giving up this blog’s cool photo icon (created by Heather Irwin.) That stays.

Let me know what you think. The one with the winning idea will get the credit, and all the glory that goes with it.
