So is this an exhibit or an event, or both? Is it art, or journalism, or both?

Maybe it’s all of the above.

John Crowley got together with 10 local photographers to produce a one-of- a-kind art project at his Aqus Cafe Foundry Wharf in Petaluma.

One day last month. the photographers came in to photograph willing customers at the cafe.  The result is “One Day at Aqus, ” an exhibit of some 400 portraits, running Jan. 7-18.

There will be an opening reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the cafe, at 189 H St.

For the exhibit, the cafe also collected customers’ answers to two questions:

1. “What is it that you want changed in your life over the next 12 months?”

2. “What do you wish for your community over the next 12 months?”

Selected, anonymous answers will be displayed along with the photos.
