Dreaming of a career in motion pictures? You may not have to journey to Southern California to get started.

You could go instead to the Northern California Screenwriters and Filmmakers Expo and Pitch Fest, running Friday through Sunday, March 26-28, at the Silverado Resort, 1600 Atlas Peak Road, Napa.

Find out what it takes, and if you have what it takes, from people who know.

“This is the newest attempt to help catapult Northern California into the Hollywood Film industry,” said Dan Mustaro for Northern California Screenwriters. “This is big because a lot of Hollywood people are looking at this to see whether we can make a success of it or not. It’s also neat that Hollywood is, even for three days, coming to Wine Country.”

On both Friday and Saturday, there will be classes and presentations by Oscar-winning screenwriter Bobby Moresco (“Crash,” “Million Dollar Baby”); acting coaches Howard Fine and Scott Sedita,  Sonoma County movie “trailer” maker Tony Seiniger and other industry insiders.

On Sunday, there will be a “pitch fest,” where attendees can promote their projects and share scripts, resumes and head shots with Hollywood agents, producers and studio executives.
