Jim Hurst

Bluegrass guitarist Jim Hurst — voted guitar player of the year by the International Bluegrass Music Association for 2001-2002 — will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Sudbud Hall, 234 Hutchins Ave., Sebastopol.

Hurst has played and/or recorded with the greats of the genre, including Bill Monroe, Doc Watson and Petaluma’s own David Grisman.

Hurst has three CDs out: “Open Window,” 1998; “Second Son,” 2002; “A Box of Choclates,” 2008.
