Contemporary theater is supposed to deal with issues in our everyday lives, right?

So credit Project 104 at Santa Rosa’s Imaginists Theatre Collective with tackling one of the most pervasive influences in modern culture.

That’s right. Facebook.

“Facebook Nation, a Living Newspaper,” opens Aug. 5 for six performances in the Imaginists’ studio at 461 Sebastopol Ave.

To quote the company’s press release: “Learn Facebook etiquette, enjoy singing and dancing, zap down to the size of a quark and rip through cyberspace and investigate corporate control of media.”

Show times are 8 p.m. Aug. 5-6 and 12-14, and 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7.  Seating is limited and you’re advised to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to show time.

Tickets at the door, the night of the show: $15 for adults; $10 for students and seniors. Aug. 12 is “Pay What You Can Night” and all proceeds will go to the actors.
