Mystery Photo No. 3: Hop kiln

Earlier this week, the ARTS blog launched the “Mystery Photo” series, in hopes of helping Lynn Prime, Digital Projects Librarian at Sonoma State University, identify archival photos taken more than three decades ago by students in a historical preservation course.

So, now we’re ready for Mystery Photo No. 3 (ID# carpssu_073):

“We know the photo was taken sometime between 1974 and 1976 by student photographer JoAnne Gray,” Prime says. “We’ve had mixed reports as to which hop kiln it is. The student photographer indicated that it was located at West College Avenue near Highway 12, Santa Rosa. Others have suggested the building is part of the Hop Kiln Winery in Healdsburg.”
