Mystery Photo No. 5: 'Herold Building, Petaluma'

Everybody loves a mystery, and who isn’t intrigued by old photographs?

Earlier this month, the ARTS blog launched the “Mystery Photo” series, trying to help Lynn Prime, Digital Projects Librarian at Sonoma State University, identify archival photos taken more than three decades ago by students in a historical preservation course.

Today’s question is, “Who was Herold?” Take a good look at Mystery Photo No. 5:  Herold Building, Petaluma (ID# carpssu_106).

“The photo was taken in 1976 by Michael Himphill. The Herold Building is located at 63 Kentucky St,, Petaluma. Any other historical details would be happily received,” Prime said.

You can post your information and comments here, and you can also contact Prime directly at primel@sonoma.edu or (707) 664-4025.
