'Shadows of Eternity' by Boback Emad

Santa Rosa sculptor Boback Emad likes to do things in a big way, and Monday, Oct. 25, is a big day for him.

The City of Cloverdale will dedicate Emad’s large steel sculpture, “Shadows of Eternity,” at a celebration running from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thyme Square, 301 S. Cloverdale Blvd.

Denizens of downtown Santa Rosa are already familiar with Emad’s work. His “Whole Some” stands at College and Mendocino Avenues in downtown Santa Rosa.

The new Cloverdale sculpture stands 20 feet high, 10 feet wide and 20 feet deep. It was completed two years ago and won both first place and best of show in the seventh annual Cloverdale Sculpture Exhibition.

Emad was born in Ohio and currently divides his time between his primary studio in Santa Rosa and his atelier in Paris, France.  His career spans 25 years and his works, all of which are monumental, are displayed in private and public collections throughout the Western US, Mexico and France.
