The national tour of “Billy Elliot, The Musical” begins its San Francisco engagement on June 27 at the Orpheum Theatre, 1192 Market St., San Francisco.

Tickets start at $35, go on sale Friday, Feb. 4, and may be purchased online at shnsf.com or by calling (888) 746-1799.

The show features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.

The Broadway production of “Billy Elliot, The Musical” won 10 Tony Awards.

Set in a small town, the story follows a boy who stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class.

The San Francisco production is scheduled to run through Sept. 17.
