"Our Lady of the Harbor" by David Best

David Best

David Best, the Petaluma artist known for his found-object collage, sculpture and lavishly decorated art cars, as well as his art installations at the Burning Man Festival, has been up to something new.

Last Saturday, Feb. 19, Best and his crew installed a piece titled “Our Lady of the Harbor” at Point Reyes Station.

Best’s work is one of a dozen outdoor public art pieces created by artists from Marin and Sonoma counties to be displayed until May 31, in connection with the Geography of Hope Film Festival, Feb. 25-27, and Geography of Hope Conference, March 18-20.

The artworks reflect the theme of both events, “Reflections on Water.” For details: www.ptreyesbooks.com.
