“Eye of the Beholder”, an exhibition featuring abstract art by artists from Becoming Independent, a program that promotes community involvement for people with developmental disabilities, opens on Saturday, Jan. 14.

There will be a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Gallery of Sea and Heaven, 312 S. A St., Santa Rosa.

The exhibit also features work by other local painters and photographers, including Tanya Braunstein, Christine DeMeo, Waren Hedgepeth, Chris Henry, Gabrielle Herrmann, Karina Nishi Marcus, Alex Shirwo and Kathleen Thompson.

The show offers works on both paper and canvas, and continues through March 17. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
