The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County has been awarded a $10,000 grant by Wells Fargo.

The gift will be used  for indoor exhibits on science, nature and the arts for the new museum.

The museum is campaigning  to raise $1.8 million to finish its indoor exhibits and upgrade its site at 1835 W. Steele Lane in Santa Rosa .

It  also recently received a grant from California Parks and Recreation for outdoor exhibits and improvements on the four-acre lot.

The museum is expected to open in late 2013.

Currently, the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County reaches over 10,000 children and their caregivers each year through ‘Museum-on-the-Go’ community events, school outreach programs, and special events and birthday parties held at the site.
