This summer’s Healdsburg Jazz Festival will open June 1 with the Calvin Keyes Organ Quartet and close June 10 with Roy Haynes, Sheila Jordan and Vijay Iyer.

For 10 days, the 14th annual celebration of authentic jazz will present stars of national stature at venues scattered around the Healdsburg area.

Other newly announced artists include Kenny Burrell, Mal Sharpe, Freddy Cole, Orestes Vilato and Maria Marquez, and Michele Rosewoman with Andy Mckee and Billy Hart, said festival founder Jessica Felix.

Threatened with cancelation in 2010, the festival drew strong support from jazz fans throughout Northern California and jazz musicians nationwide.

The festival not only survived, but has continued an ongoing fund-raising campaign to help keep it going this summer and in future years.

Online ticket sales start April 2.
