Going to the airport can be an artistic experience.

The Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport, the Arts Council of Sonoma County and the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation have formed a new partnership to bring attention to Sonoma County art.

At a dedication ceremony celebrating the partnership, set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, the centerpiece of the event will be “Syncronetic #4,” a newly installed 12-foot high bronze sculpture created by Riis Burwell of Santa Rosa.

The sculpture is next to the Sky Lounge Steakhouse patio at the airport, and visible from the terminal and to passengers as they enter the arrival gate.

The airport is at 2290 Airport Blvd., Santa Rosa
