Jelani Remy stars as Simba in 'The Lion King'

The North American tour of Disney’s “The Lion King,”  has broken the box office record at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco for the highest grossing week of a Broadway show.

“The Lion King” grossed $1,674,059 for eight performances during the week ending Nov. 25. This marks the first time the record has been broken since Jan. 30, 2010.

Tickets are still available for the remaining seven weeks of the San Francisco return engagement, which closes Jan. 13, 2013.

Your best chance to get tickets will be on weeknights and during the holidays.
