Julia Feld

Ceramicist Julia Feld will be the new Artist in Residence at the Sonoma Community Center.

Originally from Russia, Feld holds a BFA from San Jose State College and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St. in Sonoma, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.

Feld will teach an eight-week class at the center titled “Sculpture for All Levels,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays, from Jan. 25 to March 15.

Feld’s work was exhibited at “The Best of American Ceramic Art” show in Beijing, China in 2009.

A month-long show of the work Field creates during her residency at the Sonoma Community Center will open June. 7.
