One of of the more interesting art exhibits in Sonoma County every year is the “Invitational Exhibition” at the Graton Gallery, in tiny but lively downtown Graton.

Owned and operated by a partnership of nine local artists, the gallery picks the best among the owners’ working artistic peers in the area for an annual show.

The seventh annual “Invitational Exhibition” features 34 of Northern California’s most well-known and admired master painters, printmakers and sculptors.

The show opened Jan. 15 and runs through Feb. 24, with an opening reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the gallery

Artists featured this year include Chester Arnold, D. A. Bishop, Marylu Downing, Bruce Johnson, Monty Monty, Micah Schwaberow and Judson Smith.
