Singer and songwriter Jack Tempchin, who wrote the ‘70s Eagles hits “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Already Gone,” will perform Saturday, April 13, at the Sebastopol Community Center Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol.

Folk and cowboy singer Ray Bierl will open the show at 8 p.m.

Tempchin also co-wrote with Eagles member Glenn Frey “You Belong to the City,” “Smuggler’s Blues,” “The One You Love,” “I Found Somebody” and “True Love.”

Among many other songs, Tempchin wrote “Slow Dancin’ (Swayin’ to the Music),” which became a top-10 pop hit for Johnny Rivers. He also has written tunes recorded by Emmylou Harris, Glen Campbell, George Jones and Tanya Tucker.

Tempchin’s current band is called Rocket Science, which plays at venues throughout Southern California and beyond, but he also occasionally he plays solo gigs like the one in Sebastopol this weekend.  His current tour celebrates his newest CD/DVD release, “Live at Tales from the Tavern.”
