Comedy nights start in Rohnert Park

After a trial show in November, local comedians Brian Thomas and Nick Hoffman return Tuesday, Jan. 8, to launch a monthly open mic comedy night at the Double Decker Lanes in Rohnert Park. Battle of the Bartenders in Sonoma

A dozen local bartenders will compete for the title of “Sonoma’s Best Bartender” at the fourth annual Battle of the Bartenders at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Sonoma Veterans Building, 126 First St. W., Sonoma. Upper Fourth to reopen as Christy’s on the Square

The once-popular upscale cocktail lounge on Courthouse Square, Upper Fourth, will come back to life later this spring under a new name and new ownership. The second-floor cocktail lounge above Flavor Bistro, will reopen as Christy’s on the Square in late April or early May, said new owner Amos Flint, a Santa Rosa contractor.
