Santa Rosan’s Americas Cup photos on exhibit

Photographs of the Americas Cup sailboat race on San Francisco Bay, taken by Santa Rosa photographer Stuart Kiehl, will be shown throughout August at the Depot Gallery in downtown Mill Valley. A former New York City fashion photographer, Kiehl also will offer framed, signed prints of his Americas Cup photographs for sale. New photo exhibit at Sonoma County Museum draws a crowd

The Sonoma County Museum’s “IMBY” exhibit is a hit. More than 400 people attended the opening reception last Friday, Jan. 25. A lecture about the show on Sunday, Jan. 27, also was well-attended, said Pat Lenz, one of the exhibit’s organizers. Rolling Stone photographer speaks

Baron Wolman took photos of Jimi, Janis, all the greats. And you’ll get a chance to hear about it first-hand this weekend. Wolman was a Rolling Stone magazine photographer from 1967 to 1970. Wolman’s early days with the magazine, photographing the major rock music stars of the day, made his reputation. “I was one of the first guys there. Photo show at Saret’s Gallery in Sonoma

“Collector’s Show” opens with a reception from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Saret Gallery, 111A E. Napa St., Sonoma. The exhibit features photography by Ansel Adams, Bill Brandt, Yousef Karsh, Edouard Boubat, Robert Doiseneu, Andre Kertesz, Berenice Abbott, W. Eugene Smith and others. Identifying old photos can be easy, or it can be tough.
