Cloverdale dedicates an outdoor sculpture

Santa Rosa sculptor Boback Emad likes to do things in a big way, and Monday, Oct. 25, is a big day for him. The City of Cloverdale will dedicate Emad’s large steel sculpture, “Shadows of Eternity,” at a celebration running from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thyme Square, 301 S. Santa Rosa celebrates ‘Cyclisk’ sculpture

Some people love it, and some don’t, but nobody ignores ‘Cyclisk,’ the 60-foot-high obelisk made of recycled bicycles and installed last August on Santa Rosa Avenue, at South A Street. The City of Santa Rosa’s Art in Public Places Committee plans a dedication ceremony, and celebration honoring the artists, Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector, at the site from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10. Santa Rosa Mayor Susan Gorin will attend the event. Refreshments and entertainment will follow.
