All-woman KISS tribute band plays Cotati

Stacy Maisenbach, a 1991 graduate of Santa Rosa High school, is coming back to Sonoma County this weekend, but you might not recognize her right away. She’ll be costumed and heavily made up as Gene Simmons’ demon bassist character from the classic band KISS. Jamaican vocal stars The Melodians play at Cotati’s Redwood Cafe

Before reggae, there was the Jamaican Rocksteady style of music, and you have a chance to see a live show by a couple of the genre’s pioneers. The Melodians, formed in 1965 in Kingston, Jamaica, bring their current tour to the Redwood Cafe at 8240 Old Redwood Highway in Cotati at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Petaluma boy chosen for music video

Last month, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Jake Walden of Cotati came home to Sonoma County to shoot his new music video, and he recruited a little local help. Tanner Sklove, 11, of Petaluma, appears in the new video for Walden’s “Even in Your Doubt,” as a younger version of Walden. The video was filmed in Old Grove Redwoods near Occidental. ‘Save Live Music’ at Tradewinds in Cotati

The Tradewinds bar in Cotati has hosted many benefit concerts over the years for a variety of causes, but this Sunday, Feb. 28, the beloved local saloon is throwing a fund-raiser for itself.
