10th and last ‘Twisted Christmas’ variety show at Glaser Center

Every year during the holidays, we can count on seeing some version of “The Nutcracker” and “The Christmas Carol,” but local journalist, playwright and actor David Templeton likes to do something different. ‘Flying Solo’ series starts in Sebastopol

After a decade as a professional Bay Area standup comic, Dave Pokorny of Petaluma decided he wanted something more from his work, and his life. “I turned into a storyteller as a comic, because it turns out in standup comedy, they want a laugh every 10 to 15 seconds, and I had all these stories I wanted to tell,” Pokorny said. “Comedy clubs were not going be the venues for me, so I vowed to put together a one-man show.”… Read More »

‘Wretch Like Me’ returns

When North Bay journalist, writer and performer David Templeton started work two years ago on “Wretch Like Me,” his one-man show based on his adolescent years in Los Angeles County as a fundamentalist Christian, he didn’t know what to expect. Return of the ‘Wretch’ in Santa Rosa

Since its debut last year, “Wretch Like Me,” David Templeton’s one-man show based on his adolescent years in Los Angeles County as a fundamentalist Christian, has played Santa Rosa, Sebastopol and Mill Valley. Templeton returns to Santa Rosa to perform in the show starting Aug. 6, this time in the 6th Street Playhouse Studio theater. Santa Rosa one-man show heads to Marin

After well-received runs in Santa Rosa and Sebastopol, North Bay writer and performer David Templeton is taking his “one-sinner show” south to Marin County. “Wretch Like Me,” Templeton’s autobiographical tale of religious zealotry opens Jan. 20 at the  142 Throckmorton Theatre, located (logically enough) at 142 Throckmorton Ave. in Mill Valley.
