‘The Last Hurrah’ at Quicksilver Mine Co.

When Khysie Horn, owner and founder of the Quicksilver Mine Co. art gallery in Forestville, titled her current exhibit “The Last Hurrah,” she meant it. Quicksilver art gallery in Forestville to close at end of 2012

Quicksilver’s annual ‘Baker’s Dozen’ exhibit

The Quicksilver Mine Co. opens ‘Bakers Dozen 2011,’ the Forestville gallery’s annual group exhibition featuring 13 Northern California artists, on Friday, Jan. 21. A reception for the artists will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday,  Jan. 22. The exhibit runs through Feb. 27. Gallery hours are 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Monty Monty art show in Forestville

The whimsical toys created by irreverent assemblage artist Monty Monty wouldn’t necessarily be safe to play with, but they sure are fun to look at. His latest exhibit, “Dangerous Toys,” opens Friday, Oct. 1, at the Quicksilver Mine Co., 6671 Highway 116, Forestville. “I am excited to be sharing over 34 works of assemblage art in this show,”  he said. Art show at Quicksilver in Forestville

If you love oil paintings and crave something a bit different, here’s a tip: The Quicksilver Mine Co. in Forestville will open “Upstage,” a one-woman exhibition of recent work by Kathleen Youngquist, on Friday, March 5.
