Wondering what the people around you have been reading this year?

Vicki DeArmon, marketing and events director for  Copperfield’s Books, has an answer.

“For the first time ever, erotic romance dominated the list of the bestselling books of 2012 at Copperfield’s Books,” she said.

“Fifty Shades of Grey,” by E.L. James, took the number one spot for books sold this year, claiming 25 percent of the sales for the top 10 books of the year.

Add the sequels, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” and it comes to 47 percent.

Another three slots in the top 10 went to the post-apocolyptic  series, “The Hunger Games.”

“All three books from ‘The Hunger Games’ series by Suzanne Collins made it in the top 10,” DeArmon said.
