A benefit concert will be held for longtime Sonoma County musician Christopher Marvin, who is battling cancer, from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Sally Tomatoes 1100 Valley House Drive, Rohnert Park.
Marvin, son of film actor Lee Marvin, has lived and worked in the county for the past 30 years.
A professional drummer, Marvin has recorded with singer-songwriter Tom Waits, playing on the “Mule Variations” album at the Prairie Sun recording studio in Cotati in 1998.
More than a dozen local music acts will perform, including Levi Lloyd’s 501 Band, the Detroit Disciples, Danny Sorentino, the Pulsators and Volker Striffler.
A $10 donation will be requested at the door.
