Quick quiz: Can you name the resident theater company at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts?

If not, that’s only because Clark Lewis, artistic director and founder of Roustabout Theater, has been slowly and steadily building his troupe, training young actors and showcasing them in an ambitious selection of shows.

Not a lot of big talk here. Just a lot of hard work. And his efforts are paying off.

Last Saturday (Oct. 3), Dene Harvey from Roustabout Theater won the chance to sing in the touring show, Neil Berg’s “101 Years of Broadway, ” at Wells Fargo Center, with Broadway performers from ‘Phantom of the Opera,’ ‘Chicago,’ ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Mama Mia.’

And in the competition for that spot, six of the runner-ups were also from Roustabout.

Last year, Roustabout’s graduating seniors were accepted to Circle On The Square in New York City, UC Davis theater arts department and Elon University’s musical theater program.

Next up for the troupe: a new production of “Hello, Dolly!” at Wells Fargo Center, Nov. 21 – Dec. 6
