Here is a story about one musician who helped another, and a lot of other musicians who decided to help them both:

Dave Broida, a Santa Rosa Junior College teacher and the harmonica player with the Lake County band Blues Farm, suffered kidney failure and needed a transplant.

Broida’s friend Sue Hill, a Clearlake Hospital emergency medical technician and the band’s bass player for 10 years, underwent surgery to donate a kidney to him March 22 at UC Davis Medical Center.

To help with their medical costs, blues musicans will stage a benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Forestville Club, 6250 Front St., Forestville.

Featured musicians include Bill Noteman and the Rockets, The Hellhounds, Sonny Lowe and Jokers Wild, Steve Judkins and the Hukill-Wilson Blues Duo.

Admission: $12. Information: 578-8885.
