The 6th Street Playhouse School of Drama will present “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” a musical play based on the classic story by Mark Twain.

The show, directed by Holly Vinson, opens at 8 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, July 16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

The play features music and lyrics by Roger Miller and book by William Hauptman.

This production of “Big River” marks the first time that the 6th Street Playhouse School of Drama has presented a stand-alone youth summer musical theater production.

Students have received instruction in acting, dance and music during a month-long rehearsal and training program.

The 6th Street Playhouse is at 52 West 6th St., Santa Rosa in historic Railroad Square.
