Sonos, a vocal quintet co-founded by Santa Rosans, lasted four weeks on the NBC talent contest series “The Sing-Off” before getting eliminated on Monday night’s episode.

The group was the sixth of the 16 ensembles competing on the show to make an exit. The series ends its season Nov. 28 with a live finale.

Sonos, formed in 2006, is now based in Los Angeles and tours nationwide, with a third CD coming out soon on the Verve label.

Two of the singers, Ben McLain, 28, and Jessica Freedman, 24, are from Santa Rosa. A third Santa Rosan and founding member of Sonos, Paul Peglar, left the group in February to pursue an acting career.

When the new season of “Sing-Off” started last month, McLain and Freedman said they were grateful for the national exposure they were getting from the show, and for the connections they made with other musicians.
