The occasion for this remark is the venerable Boston rock band’s summer tour, “Global Warming,” coming Aug. 4 to the Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at LiveNation.com. Beginning Thursday, March 29, fans that visit www.livenation.com/areosmith and RSVP to the presale will have early access to tickets.

Lead singer Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry and the rest of the band start the first leg of the tour June 16 in Minneapolis and finish Aug. 8 in Tacoma.
