Summer is the season for Shakespeare, indoors and outdoors and all over the place.

If you haven’t gotten started yet, don’t worry. There’s still plenty to come. Here’s a quick sample of Shakespearean shows in the North Bay:

* “In the Mood,” the Broadway adaptation of “Much Ado About Nothing,” set in the Big Band era of the ’40s, runs through June 28 at Santa Rosa’s 6th Street Playhouse. $14-$26. 523-4185, 6thstreetplayhouse.com

* “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” the Bard’s fantasy romp in which mortals mingle with magic folk, is framed this time as a commentary on modern cultural diversity. It opens Sonoma County Repertory’s annual Sebastopol Shakespeare Festival in Ives Park on July 10. $18-$23. 823-0177, the-rep.com.

* Windsor Shakespeare on the Green presents “The Tempest” July 10-19 at Windsor Town Green, 9455 Bell Road, Windsor. Free. 291-2642, theatergreen.com

* The Narrow Way Stage Company presents two Shakespeare plays in repertory in the courtyard at Santa Rosa’s Glaser Center: “Coriolanus,” opening Aug. 6; “Twelfth Night,” opening Aug. 13. Ends Aug. 30. $15-$20. 568-5381, glasercenter.com.

* Sonoma Shakespeare performs “Taming of the Shrew” Aug. 21-Sept. 6 outdoors at the Gundlach Bundschu Winery, 2000 Denmark St., Sonoma. $10-$20. sonomashakespeare.com

* “Dreaming the Tempest,” an adaptation by Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller of “The Tempest,” includes puppets, masks, live actors, digital effects and music. It opens indoors Sept. 18 at the Sonoma County Rep in Sebastopol, and tours rural schools in Northern California early next year. $18-$23. 823-0177, the-rep.com.

If anyone has been omitted, please feel free to assume it’s all a plot. Or, if paranoia is not your thing, just send me your information at dan.taylor@pressdemocrat.com.
