Leave it to Sonoma County’s “Mr. Music” to give other people presents on his birthday.

He’s giving you seven hours of live bands on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Mr. Music’s 60th Birthday Bash and Free Music Festival.

For those who don’t already know, the Sebastopol musician is founder of The Love Choir, a community chorus that performs throughout the county, and the Mr. Music Foundation, which supports and provides school music programs.

For his community efforts, Corbett won one of this year’s Sonoma County Artist Awards from the Arts Council of Sonoma County.

Despite the honor, Mr. Music hasn’t lost his self-mocking sense of humor. Posing with his guitar and a rocking chair to promote the event, Corbett gives the term “rocker” a double meaning.

The music runs from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Sebastopol Community Center, 390 Morris St., Sebastopol.

The line-up includes the Mighty Chiplings, Fishbear, Hand Me Down, the Moonbeams, Sherry Jones & Michael Capella, the Love Rustlers, the Farallones, the Country All Stars, Band O’ Geezers and, of course, Mr. Music and the Love Choir.

Don’t miss the massive “Purple People Eater” singalong at 3 p.m., and the cake cutting at 6 p.m.
