Over the the past several decades, one name that keeps coming up in Sonoma County theater circles is Harry Reid.

No, not the senator. The local author and playwright.

Several of Reid’s original works have been staged in Santa Rosa: “Best Bet,” a musical; “Classified,” a romantic comedy, and “Yorktown,” about the American revolution. “Yorktown” went on to play San Francisco.

A new effort by Reid, “The Diary,” a two -act dramatic narrative about a retired professor and an exotic street girl, will be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, in the Forum Room at the central branch of the Sonoma County Library, Third and E Streets, Santa Rosa.

Admission to this library fund-raiser costs $35 per person or $60 for two.
