Singer-songwriter Larry Potts

Almost everyone worth knowing has more than one identity.

Larry Potts has worked as marriage and family counselor and he spent three decades as an English teacher at Petaluma’s Casa Grande High School, but really, he’s a songwriter.

Among the several awards he’s won is Song of the Year from the West Coast Songwriters Association in 2004. And he was a finalist in the 2002 John Lennon Contest.

Potts will celebrate the release of his third CD of original music, titled ‘Close to Home,’ with a performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Petaluma Arts Center, 230 Lakeville St., Petaluma. He’ll be backed by a live band.
