Dan Earl

Some teachers leave a lasting impression.

That’s unquestionably true of retired music teacher Dan Earl, who taught band and chorus during his 28-year tenure at Santa Rosa High School.

A group of his former students, some of them now professional performers, will join Earl  for the “Music with the Stars Gala,” a fund-raiser for the 6th Street Playhouse, this weekend.

The party starts with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at 6:30 p.m  and the music begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 8,  at the theater, 52 W. Sixth St. in Santa Rosa’s Old Railroad Square. Tickets cost $100.

There will be a second performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9, for $30.

Performers include Stephanie St. James, Alyssa Powers, Benjamin Pither, Nicolas Dávila, Melia Pavloff, Jeff Coté, Paul Troppy and others, with Chris Alexander on piano.
