One of the first venues that the rocking bluegrass band Hot Buttered Rum ever played was the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Station.

Since then the group has gone on work with the likes of banjo master Bela Fleck, play major festivals and record three studio albums. The current one is “Limbs Akimbo,” which plugs jazz, country and world music into the mix.

This weekend, the band returns there for two shows, at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 8-9. Pink Sabbath opens the Saturday show, and The Shes and Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers open Sunday night’s concert.

Tickets cost $18 for seniors and $20 for others in advance and $23-$25 at the door, with half-price discounts for kids 12 and under Sunday.
