St. Helena’s Cameo Cinema, which opened in 1913, is celebrating its centennial.

As part of that celebration, five-time Academy Award winner Francis Ford Coppola plans a special mystery event at the venerable movie theater at 8 p.m. Nov. 15.

Will he talk about his career as a film director, his experiences as a winery owner or show some movies?

Organizers aren’t telling. And apparently the movie-maker’s fans are willing to be surprised, because the event is already sold out. But there’s always the chance of scoring a ticket on the Internet.

The doors will open at Cameo Cinemas, 1340 Main St., St.  Helena, for “A Night with Franics Coppola”  at 7:30 p.m.

Coppola’s Inglenook Winery of Rutherford will pour its wines, and Italian sweets and free popcorn will be served.

(The Coppola family also operates the Francis Coppola Winery in Geyserville.)
