"Street View" by Wendy Franklin

The Riverfront Art Gallery in Petaluma opens two new shows Jan. 13:

(1) “Just Around the Corner,” an exhibit of plein air oil paintings by Wendy Franklin, who explains, “Since the price of gas went through the roof, I decided to keep my painting excursions close to home, and I discovered that Petaluma has an endless supply of inspiration.”

(2) “Remembering Summer” oil paintings by Karen Spratt, who says, “I am doing a show about summer in January. To recall the blooming warmth of summer in the cold quiet of winter makes each season more intense.”

The gallery will host a reception for the artists from 6 to 9 p.m.  Jan.  16. The show runs through  March 14 at the Riverfront Art Gallery, 132 Petaluma Blvd. N., Petaluma.
