Kathleen McCallum — art photographer, teacher, event organizer and former gallery owner — is always looking for ways to draw public attention to the work of local artists.

Her latest efforts will be evident at the Fine Arts Festival, running from 11 am. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11 and 12, at Santa Rosa’s Montgomery Village shopping center.

Nationally acclaimed, award-winning artists represented in the festival’s art show include Virginia Harrison, Anne Regan and Ginny Stanford. The festival also features food, wine,  beer and hands-on activities for the kids. There will be live music by the Ian Scherer Band on Saturday and the Jennifer Saito Trio on Sunday.

McCallum also is hosting the festival preview, billed as the “Come as Your Art” Party, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Sharper Image, 710 Farmers Lane. The tickets cost $10 at the door and $5 for those in costume. A $100 gift certificate will be awarded for the best costume.
